Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins

Author: Suzanne Collins
Publication Date: 24th August 2010
Details: 400 pages
Review: The third book of 'The Hunger Games', Mockinjay was released in August 2010 to leave it's fans aghast. Unlike the first two happily-ever-after books, the end of this realistic book leaves the readers to either cry over what happened, curse for what could have happened and happy for the good turn in things. While half of the readers will say That Suzanne ended the third book expertly, others will debate on for hours of what things shouldn't have happened. Personally, I think that I disliked a few things and was a little bit disappointed by the turn in events. However, I was happy that Panem was free at the end... I understand that war brings sadness even if there is a happy ending, but well, you have to read it yourself to judge.
The book is very emotional, it makes you cry at times, laugh at times, and bang your fists with anger at times! I wouldn't recommend the book to those who want a complete happy ending because you'll just be left depressed then. An ideal read for realistic-lovers!

The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger (18+)

Author: Audrey Niffenegger
Publisher: MacAdam/Cage
Publication Date: 2003
Details: Hard cover, 546 pages (first edition)
Movie: Released on 14 Aug 2009 (USA)
Review: The time traveler's wife is Audrey Niffenegger's debut novel and a national bestseller. Very romantic, heart breaking and incredible. But sadly this novel was unable to hit my favorites list. Reason: Audrey Niffenegger's itch to add as much adult content as possible. The scene in the ending with Gomez was unnecessary and didn't make any sense. One was supposed to feel sympathetic towards Claire, for loosing her husband. But how is it possible when Audrey made her - kinda- cheat on Henry. I just didn't feel sorry for her, at that moment I just felt like throwing the book away. Also, the time traveling thing is a bit confusing. And the story seems slow at times. Wonder how this book has spent weeks on the bestseller list. I won't recommend this book to those who pin point every single teenie minie mo detail in a book - I don't think they'll like it.

Note: The 18+ rating is not official. But personally on general bases, I think the content is not suitable for a under 18.

Publication Date: May 6th 2008, April 13 2010 (paperback)
Details: Hardcover, 617 pages
Movie: Coming soon in 2011
Review: After reading this novel, I realized that Stephenie Meyer can come up with some really good ideas, apart from the vampire stuff. Her writing skills may not be so good, but her creativity is extraordinary. The Host is a science fiction novel for those who do not like science fiction. Its romantic, thrilling and touchy.

Remember, this book will gonna sound kinda boring in the beginning. And you won't understand a thing in the first 2-3 chapters, its very confusing. But trust me.. just stick to it, cause once you get to know whats going on, you would not want to take your eyes off the book.
